When you perform a search, your search results page will include a list of available filters (these are based on the information provided by the person who added the resource, and are database “fields”) in the left-hand sidebar. You can turn these filters on and off to further narrow or expand your search results. (NOTE: The available options under each filter on search results pages are not always the same; these change depending on the resources in the original search. For instance, if your original search provided results that did not include any resources for high school, you will not find that option listed under “Education Level”)
Filter search results
- On any search results page, you will see a list of available filter types in the left-hand sidebar, under Refine your search.
- Click any of the down arrow buttons in the filters list to open a menu selection for each type of filter. (NOTE: If you started your search with Advanced Search or from the Homepage, the filters you’ve already selected will be shown as active. You can narrow your search by selecting additional filters, or expand your search by deselecting already active filters.)
- Choose one or more of the filters listed. Both the Search Results and the Selected filters are updated to reflect your new selection(s).
- You can turn off a filter at any time by clicking the “x” button next to individual filters in your “Selected filters” list, which appears at the top of your search results. When you turn off a filter, your search results will be automatically updated to reflect your deselection.
